after that conversation people were less afraid but still nervous. We checked the stock and there were a shit load of things to take. Gannon got his glock back, and I divided the guns up and the rest went to storage. There were enough pistols for everyone to have one and plenty of shotguns and even assault rifles, smgs the works. Of course we didn’t give them out to the younger ones. Jacob came up to me as I was trying to pick out what new side arm I wanted “hey man, take this” he handed me our dads glock. “your better with it, and you deserve it. I was always sort of a bad brother but its only because I was jealous, your better then me” this gesture was extremely surprising to me. I took the gun and looked up at him and smiled

“no man you’re a great brother, bad brothers get along” he smiled

“well I guess your being a bad brother right now huh” we laughed

“I guess so, but now’s a good time….i appreciate you taking over when I was…well you know.”

            “sure…can I ask you something”

            “sure”

Jacob paused for a while. “how much do you like Jen” I laughed almost but kept it in

“go for her man” Jacob looked up and smiled

            “thanks”

shortly after looking at the guns I made a decision. So far this store had a entertainment room, a sleeping quarters , a food center, a parkour area. We even made a makeshift shower out of the water system. The electric still worked and the water still ran.  Even the internet worked, and xbox live had some people still online. It was really quite amazing. But if I thought about it eventually we will run out of supplies, eventually we will run out of everything. We need to learn how to survive. Before all of this I was a scout. I could shoot, and I could fight, but I can’t protect everyone.

I walked over to the food court and found john was the only one eating at the time, “hey john, I want to call a meeting help me by telling people when your done?”

“sure” he smiled “your coming up with your own ideas again?”

“maybe” I smiled and walked away. Things were looking up. I still felt empty but at least I had once again found purpose.

Eventually everyone gathered and I was able to talk to everyone. I explained my plan as best I could. We had guns, we had enough ammo to supply the U.S military, and we all had a will to kill. I was going to train them. All of them. John and ted would be in charge of the physical parts of it, and everyone will learn parkour, I would  be in charge of gun safety and how to shoot 101. Everyone was to be armed by the time they were trained. “we will have our own personal army by Christmas hopefully if we work hard enough”

“why do we need this?” Dan my brother asked “arent we safe here?”

“yes, but we can’t live here forever, or at least not without restocking.” the meeting was over, and I was tired, I went to lay down and just sat there. The one thing about a zombie infested world. Everybody’s an insomniac.

“smit!” johns voice woke me up  and he seemed almost out of breath “ I need to talk to you! Its important!” my heart skipped a beat, and I nodded and reached for my gun.

The Lost Man (for 3.8.11)

Posted by Andrew Smith in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 9:14 am

The lost man fell
and went trough hell
but didn’t give up
kept going, with an empty cup

The lost man fought
for what he sought
with no wish for peace
his life on lease

The lost man found
some decent ground
He stood up straight
hoped it wasn’t too late

The lost man
Lost no more
found himself
a little whore

The lost man, lost again

They, and We (3.7.11)

Posted by Andrew Smith in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 9:13 am

They say love don’t last
“they” don’t know us
They say people die
They just lie

We say love can last
We know our past
We know Love
Thats why deaths a lie

They say a lot,
They are all fools
They smoke pot
They use their tools

We don’t use pot
We still fly
We know a lot
We wont ever die

Love happens, then our life starts, Death is just the next step,
a step to something better

The End(3.5.11)

Posted by Andrew Smith in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 9:06 am

I played with how I told stories, and the amount of detail, I’m special interested to hear how I did with this short story:

There was a table in the corner, I remember, a table that was not there before. It was a short table, maybe 3 foot, made out of oak, finely polished, standing on four legs. The table was familiar and yet I don’t recall ever seeing it. What was on the table was what really got me, there was a picture on it, and there I was in the picture, with a beautiful woman. The woman had dark hair, and beautiful brown eyes, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.  I knew her from somewhere, but where? I looked down at my glass, the clear dark liquid shown my reflection.  An old tired face, gray hair, I took a long sip, the alcohol burning my old chapped lips.  As I finished the drink, I stumbled a bit before pouring myself another class, I had opened a new bottle of whiskey. The picture began to blur as I realized that I was going to pass out before I got to drink anymore. Then I remembered the picture, my wife, our wedding day, the table. She had carved it herself, for me, for us. I passed out with thoughts of seeing her again, I prayed, I wouldn’t wake up.

Happy? (for 3.6.11)

Posted by Andrew Smith in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 9:03 am

Your all I need
Everything I want
You’re my speed
Tell me what you want

I’ll try my best
to give you everything
and I wont rest
not for anything

Are you happy?
Or is life crappy?
let me know,
so I can show
I’ll be here for you

always here for you
you know its true
so just tell me
are you happy?

My Puppy!

Posted by Andre Serrano in Storytelling - Chase on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:16 pm

I was laying down in the living room and all of a sudden, I heard a strange noise from the kitchen, so I went to investigate and it turns out my dog figured out how to use the fridge.

Today was a good day for my lungs.

Let's hope tomorrow is just as good, maybe even better.

Story #29

Posted by Mckelly Timothy in Storytelling - Chase on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 9:46 pm

"Finish all your homework before you call me"
I responded "ok" in an irritated tone.
Moments later I grab my phone and began to dial his number.
He answers and asks "You done?"
I quickly replied "Yes"
I decided to double check on Moodle. I noticed I had to post this story.
In the middle of his complaining about his day, I mumbled "O crap I gotta post this story"
He paused and yelled "Didn't I tell you to finish your work?" I said "Yea, but this not due til the end of class, I'm chilling."
He demanded that I finish my work before I called him back so that's what I am doing and now I am really done my work.
