I Knew You Were The One

Posted by Deja Scarborough in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 9:40 pm

It was my last class of the day but it seemed like it was going by slowly. So to make it go faster I decided that taking a little nap might help(not really bur it sounds better this way). I took my nap and when I woke up it felt like I was sleep for what seemed like three hours but it was only an half hour. After leaving the classroom I called my mom to see if our plans for later were still on. She told me they were but I wasn't so sure. You see my mom has a tendency to tell me were going to do something, but then something always gets in the way, But this time it was different. She sounded just as excited at I was when she told me we were still going but I had to be home at 3:30 pm. They left me with a couple of hours to waste time and do whatever.
So after school I chilled with Darnell which is nothing new. This is something we do every Wednesday especially if we have nothing to do at all. So we chilled wasted time by being our little silly selves. Then we went down to his job because today was his payday. And while we were there we figured that we mine as well get something to eat, so we did. I just felt so hungry. The food helped curve the hunger. Then it began to rain really hard we knew it was time to go our separate ways and head home.
I got home around 3:28pm. I thought my mom was already going to be there, but she wasn't. So I sat downstairs on the couch waiting for her. I figured that she wouldn't be that far away. Before I knew it I was dozed off and then my phone began to vibrate. At this time it was a little after 4. It was my mom. She asked me where was I and I told her in the house. She said ok she is on her way. I thought to myself she should of been here but hey this is suppose to be a good day. I dozed off again, then I hear my phone vibrating. It was my mom again telling me she was outside. I quickly get up and walk outside. I jumped in the car and asked her where were we going. She told me to Lord and Taylor. I was confused for a moment and she could tell, "just trust me", she said. I sat back and just went along for the ride.
We got inside and we couldn't see where the dresses were. So my mom asked a lady that worked there. I thought to myself and asked why would they have an old lady doing this type of work. I guess the old need money just like the young. We went to the back where the dresses were and from what I saw I quickly became discouraged. I didn't even want to look anymore. My mom suggested we try dresses on to see what color I needed. So we did that. It was this one dress i thought the colors looked really nice on me, but it was too big. It just didn't fit me right. Next I tried on this pink dress to see how that color looked but my mom stopped me before I could even look in the mirror. She didn't like it. I never believed when people said third time is the charm but I became a believer today. The third dress I tried on made me so happy. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror. And I got so many compliments on it. I knew this was the one. it just felt so right. There was just one thing It needed to be altered because it was too big for me in the waist. Good thing they did that there.
I couldn't believe it I found my prom dress and it only took two and a half hours. I guess you just know when something it the right thing for you. And I found my perfect dress.

Time in Dc

Posted by Oscar Holton in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 7:39 pm

My father planned a trip to take my brothers and I to Washington dc to see my two sisters, step mom, brother in law, niece and a newly born nephew I didn't know I had.
We had fun. I seen a comedian side of my father I never seen before. Hanging with my family, they all spoke with a heavy Jamaican accent, but I could understand everyone. The confusing part was that I couldn't speak it, and when I talked they sometimes couldn't understand me.

Cabin fever

"Taylor, I don't think I could handle a maximum security prison."

"Well, I don't think you're supposed to like it."

"But you don't understand.  Right now, I couldn't even handle a timeout!"

The Moral of the Story...

One day at the end of class little Billy's teacher has the class go home and think of a story and then conclude the moral of that story....

The next day Billy tells his story....

"My dad fought in the Vietnam war, his plane was shot down over enemy territory. He jumped out before it crashed with only a case of beer, a machine gun and a machete. On the way down he drank the case of beer. Unfortunately he landed right in the middle of 100 Vietnamese soldiers. He shot 70 with his machine gun, but ran out of bullets, so he pulled out his machete and killed 20 more, but the blade on his machete broke, so he killed the last ten with his bare hands"

Teacher looks in shock at Billy and asks if there is possibly any moral to his story....Billy replies, "Yeah... don't mess with my dad when he's been drinking

SLA WINS!

Posted by John DeSalis in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 8:44 am

The below screenshot, is the box-score from yesterday's (4/26/11) baseball game between SLA and University City. As you can see, SLA was off to a strong start with 9 runs in the first inning after giving up 4. From that point on, we as a team were just on fire, like the 3 doubles from Ian Mclendon, T.J (not P.J) Nicolella, and on top of that we were stealing bases left and right when we reached. But that 17-6 win brings us to a 4-1 record going into our next game on 4/28/11 against Strawberry Mansion HS.

Out of Luck

Posted by Andrew Smith in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:20 am

I’m out of time, and out of luck, and no one seems to give a fuck

They say its just fine here, they say at least we have beer

But I don’t wana go a single day without you, and baby they don’t have a clue

But baby, I can’t seem to pass, out of steam, and running out of gas

You say I’m losing you, but I’m trying my best to push on trough

Promise, after promise we made, we sat, and we layed

But all that time I was thinking too much, of how I had this hunch

I was never good enough for you, and baby we never had a clue

I’m out of gas, out of luck, and nobody ever gives a fuck

Stuck here in this one man town, acting like I’m a clown

But I don’t wana live without you hear, I don’t give a shit about this beer

Why do you say I can’t pass, when its you who made me run outa gas

You say I’m losing you, but you wont help me through

When all I ever said and did, was tell you it would be alright when you hid

I was always there for you, baby you know, yes you know its true

But I’m out of time, and I’m out of luck, and you never even really gave a fuck

They say its fine here, maybe I’ll drink a little beer

Because your always gonna just stand there, yeah, just stand, away from here
