Progress

Posted by Zachary Walls in Storytelling - Chase on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:37 am

We are making progress on my capstone now which is great news. I have the first 6 pages of the script done and the artists have started drawing the actual pages. I have character sketches I can upload here. I can't show the finished pages because they are getting scanned and I don't have access to them.

School is getting old.

Posted by Melissa Buchanico in Storytelling - Chase on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 9:09 am

I'm really flippin' tired of going to school.
I'm going to college in 178 days.

Bianca just tired a knot in her hair. What the hell, how do you possibly do that?
Oh well.
I'm in Economics.

Here's a poem, wait, Bianca just gave me the knot in her hair..
okay.

I don't know why
I don't sleep in class.
I don't pay attention
cause I sit on my ass.
I get really bored
and nothing is fun
except when we color
or when class is done.
I wish it was over
I wish it was through
in 178 days
I won't be seeing you
I'll be in North Jersey,
up by the beach
and I will be so happy
because I'll be out of your reach :DDD

The Light On The Other Side

Posted by Bianca Nigro in Storytelling - Chase on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 8:54 am

I think about my life, my future, and when I think about it I feel like I'm traveling through a tunnel staring at the light that I'm leaving behind. As the light gets smaller and fainter I think about going away. People say that I've taken the easy way out of things by joining the service but trust me I haven't. That tunnel is the representation of how for three months I am going to be cut off from the outside world. If I were going to college it would be a roller coaster ride with many twist and turns but on a roller coaster your still on the outside, I'm on a train set in one direction in a tunnel watching the light from the outside get dimmer and dimmer. But at least I know that there is always light on the other side.

Yesterday I broke out in hives. I never scratched myself that much ever.

I have wanted to be to many places,
To leave and forget myself in time,

Surrounded by unfamiliar faces,
But feel as though I am blind.

To be somewhere that the world embraces,
A height that I could never climb,

And all the memories this city erases,
But leaves me with eternal sublime.

At Least That's What She Thought

Posted by Bianca Nigro in Storytelling - Chase on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 1:08 am

They are in love. At least thats what she thought. She knew that getting into a relationship wasn't the right thing to do, but he made her feel cared for and he made her feel loved. She started to fall. She found someone that she could relate to in all kinds of ways. He was from the same neighborhood, they grew up together but were never that close but because of this they were able to understand each others past.

She fell for the drunk him. He was funny and talkative, just like her. Danced and had a good time and that s what she loves, anyone that can have a good time. But then when she started to date him she seen the loving and caring sober side of him. She jumped into the relationship. Everything was fine. He loved her and she loved him. But what went wrong? They spent every second that they could together but that wasn't it.

He drinks but isn't that how she started to fall for him? He drink too much. He becomes obnoxious. No one likes him drunk. They can't understand how she can put up with him. She is blinded by love but sooner or later the drinking had to stop. She no longer liked his drunk side.

They spent the weekend down the shore. She was buzzed he was plastered. He didn't want anything to do with her. She was secretly annoyed. She went her way and he went his. She found her ex and he found more beers. The ex brought back old feelings and the beers began to blur right from wrong.

They went to bed together. He was drunk and she was confused. Now she didn't want anything to do with him and he wanted to be part of her world. They didn't talk when they got home and when they did, she confronted him about the drinks.

He denied all of it. He doesn't drink that much. He was able to walk. But was he able to judge what he was doing or how he was acting? She continued to tell him how she felt.

They didn't get far. They haven't talked and nothing is the same. He no longer showed how much he loved her. She never told him how much she cared. She questioned their love. They were in love. At least that's what she thought.

I always count on the humble, honest rhythm of a workman's hammer to put my mind at ease. That feeling of repetition, of building something bigger than ourselves without having to think about it and without asking for recognition that is so admirable it pales the work of any man with a masters degree in social work. The most beautiful part being that you probably don't even know the extent of what you are doing. You hold the sun on your backs and the world on your shoulders. You can be proud when you read this, but never let it change you because that is what keeps you so beautiful.

A thought

Posted by Kimberlea Talington in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:57 pm

I really don't have a story today, but I have a thought.

In class today, we were talking about a new way of posting our stories. Instead of doing it in a blog post, we would use google docs. This idea became and caused (what seemed to be) a huge debate in our class. Everyone was talking over each other and things got confusing.

I thought that maybe if we had listened more to each other, and if we were more organized, then maybe things wouldn't have turned out the way they had. Nothing gets done with yelling and anger.

Just saying

F***ing Septa

Posted by Evett Hawks in Storytelling - Chase on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:50 am

That one week when septa decided to go on strike in the middle of the winter. I had to carpool with my some people. My ride forgot about me and i was standing near amtrak station freezing  so i decided to wait a little bit more thinking they would eventually would pick me up. My phone had died so i couldn't call anyone. while standing there freezing there was a guy selling hats and scarves he glanced at me and started to talk to me mind you this is like 6o'clock at night. so he started to talk to me and then reached out and hugged me cause i was shaking. I got a little creeped out cause he was touching me and he smelt like alcohol when he let go off me his hand had brushed my cheek and he went "Woah your cheeks are soft" then started to massage my face i stood scared out of my mind and only thing i could say was " Please stop your scaring me" he let go off me in a stupor yelling "Oh i'm sorry"  then offered me a ride with his cousin i declined and walked back to the school where Lehman gave me some money for a cab .I hoped in the cab and guy looked in the window and said " take care of yourself" and i drove off  scariest moment of my life. at least i got some earmuffs
