For this project, our spanish class had to create a song in spanish about where we come from. I learned more spanish vocabulary and how to work iMovie more. I am proud of my final product because I made a song in spanish and made a music video for it as well. If I could do it over again, I would change the words of the song to make it flow better because that was one of the things I had trouble with.

This project was based on the song "537 Cuba". The song is about a man who misses his home. Our songs were also about where wer came from. This was good practice to get back into spanish class and creating sentences. I didn't use google translate for this project which is awesome. I wish I had worked more on singing in spanish.

For this project we had to crate a song or music video answering the question of "¿Do dónde vengo yo?," which means where did we come from. I answered that question in a variety of ways.
I learned alot more spanish than I thought I would have because I had to know my lyrics to be able to sing the song. 
I am proud I got this done and that I had fun with it.
I would change the way I sang it. Some breaks in the singing are unnecessary.

+ Description of project (in English)

This is our first project in in Spanish 3 and we had to write a song that addressed the question, ¿De dónde vengo yo? or Where did you come from? We could describe the type of foods, customs, geography, climate and history of where we came from. Our teacher made this possible so we would all write unique songs the truly expressed where we are really come from. After writing the song, we then recored it on Garageband and the final step was to upload to SLATE and complete the reflection.


+ What did you learn?

I learned a lot of new vocabulary while writing my song such as valiante (brave), la tierra (land), amistad (friendship), llanos (plains), bosques (forests) and probreza (poverty). I also learned how to effectively manipulate your voice on Garageband. I also learned how to incorporate the suggestions and comments of my group mates into my song as I made revisions.
+ What are you especially proud of?

I am especially proud that I was able to use all of my class time to work on my project effectively. I am also proud because I did not use google translate. I used the words that came to me and then used the dictionary for additional assistance.


+ What would you change if you could do it over again?

If I could do this again, I would design my own beat so that it goes with the song better. I would also change some of my lyrics because at times it did not flow together. I would have also made a music video to go with the song to add an extra layer of originality to it.

​The recording I made for this project basically speaks of where I came from and ultimately where I belong. Off course here. 

From these past week that flew by, I've learned at least how to tell someone where I came from, and especially that where someone comes from doesn't always have to be literally a location. Many things factor in to it. 

I'm proud that I got this done!  

If I could do this over again, I'd improve by coming up with better... "lyrics"?

The Borough: Jenn Wright

​ For this project, the purpose was to write the lyrics to a song answering the question "De donde vengo yo?" or "Where do you come from?" The Process include writing the lyrics to the song, creating the music on Garageband and recording the lyrics with the music. 

I learned that it is much easier to be silly than serious. Because I am not a fluent speaker the meaning of some words becomes skewed. Last year I did a similar project and I tried for a serious song; it was so cheesy. This year I went the funny route. For me at least, the act of rapping is funny. I had to refresh my memory about Garageband, it is hard! 
It has so many buttons and knob that can do some really cool things. I'm really happy with the way the music came out though. I found it hard to rap to a beat, it did not happen. I tried my best to match my voice to the music to not much avail. If I could do it over again I would maybe have the basics of my music first and then attempt to fit the lyrics to the song. That seems backwards but I had to change some of the rhyming words due to grammatical errors and it messed with my flow. Yeah I said it, the flow.

For this project, we had to create a song that talks about our culture. I decided to write about what I like about my culture, what's so cool about it, and a little history background. I learned how to describe my country within a couple of words. Basically, I learned how to shorten my writing. If I could do this project again, I would not stress so much over the instrumental because if I didn't, I would of finished the project faster. I'm very proud of how I pulled this whole thing together at the last minute.

For this project we had to crate a song or music video answering the question of "¿Do dónde vengo yo?," which means where did we come from. So in my song I talk about what has raised me and what has made me the person I am today. 

I learned more spanish grammar from doing this project and was able to make many descriptive sentences. I also learned what is important to me to writing in a song and what has made me the person I am today. 

I am really proud of the fact I didn't use a translator and I put a lot of time into writing my song and making sure it made sense. 

If I were to do this project again, I would expand on the verses and make them a longer and about more topics.

  • What did you learn?
    I learned more about conjugation, but I felt as though it was mostly review of spanish 2.
  • What are you especially proud of?
    Though they don't sound great, I think the lyrics are interesting and cohesive. 
  • What would you change if you could do it over again?
    I would probably edit my voice to make it sound less like dying cats. Other then that, I'm pretty pleased with my song.
