Art Q3 Slideshow (1)
This past quarter we had 4 Major projects that we worked on. Being a self portrait in india ink, a value representation, animal sketch, and a basic shaped sketch. I thought the assignments we got this quarter were pretty interesting and fun to do. The only thing I didn't enjoy this quarter was there there wasn't much room to make the assignments our own. There were strict guidelines to follow.

Quarter 3 Advanced Art A1

Posted by Gabrielle Smullen in Art - Senior Art - Hull - E on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 7:24 pm

In this quarter we were assigned various art pieces to recreate each week. Within these weeks we learned about the history behind the art we were going to visually create. I enjoyed designing each piece of art in a way that I felt was original for me. This quarter allowed me to test my limits because I know that Im not the best artist but believing that it was my best and knowing that it was allowed me to become confident with my work.

Adam Feliciano - Q3 Student Art Portfolio

Posted by Adam Feliciano in Art - Senior Art - Hull - E on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1:34 pm

During the third quarter art class, students had a series of tasks to complete. These tasks were creating a water color, drawling a metamorphosis, creating a mosaic, designing a coat of arms picture and creating a wire sculpture. For my water color, I chose to use all the basic colors in a contrasting pattern to signify the beauty of combining numerous amounts of colors. For my metamorphosis, I decided to show a transition of an acorn transforming into a bumble bee. When creating my mosaic, I wanted to focus on designing something simple and clean. I achieved this successfully be creating a car. For my coat of arms, I chose to use the colors blue and red to represent the good and bad times I had with my advisory. Lastly, to the best of my ability, I try to design a telescope for my wire sculpture. I chose to create a telescope because it represents me looking into my future and striving to achieve my long term goals in life.

ARTIST statement:
In my art i tried to capture a very calm and happy vibe. I think I did just that with my Animal sketch because the dog was very calm. This was by far my favorite piece of art that I did this quarter. The reason behind this is i really enjoy animals, plus i thought that the vibe of my photo was energetic but also happy. Another piece of art that I very much enjoyed making was the basic shapes. This was very fun because you could see the shapes come together as you were doing the drawing. I ended up making a Calvin and Hobbes photo to go with my theme of calm and happy. The reason that this is calm is because it is just a cartoon for kids, which although has a violent scene still gives off a good vibe. For week 5 and 6 I learned how to correctly shade. This helped me in more than just this class because i now know how to shade for the rest of my classes and also when I want to draw in life. The shading skill was the most useful skill I learned this quarter I was also proud of my Self portrait because it was a good depiction of myself. It was hard to draw my eyes but I learned how to online.

Amy Farrell Q2 Art Portfolio

In this quarter, I created numerous drawings, a collage using the golden ratio, and made my own print. My favorite part of this quarter was making the collage because it was interesting see how the ratio worked and how I could create my own. I enjoy this class because I get to express myself through art and push myself to create better art everyday. I look forward to learning and creating more in the next two quarters.

Wynn Geary Q2 Art Portfolio

My artwork this quarter was fueled by my RISD application. Below you can see some of the pieces I will be submitting. I've learned a lot over the past 6 months about drawing and feel much more confident with my ability to draw, I'm not Michelangelo or anything, but I'm happy with the work I've produced.

I really like to use water color so I used it were I could in the art for this quarter and semester. Also I really enjoyed going back to print making, it was almost testing to see if we remembered what we learned in freshmen year.

Tytianna's Q2 Senior Art Work

Posted by Tytianna Broadwater in Art - Senior Art - Hull - E on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:39 pm

My art work this quarter was different than any other art work I had ever done. I have created collages and done prints before but never like the pieces of art work I created this quarter. I learned new art techniques, like the golden triangle college. I have never done a negative space drawing. This quarter opened my art knowledge to a lot more than what I already knew.
