Bundy, Kenyatta; Q3 Artwork

Posted by Kenyatta Bundy in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:06 pm

For this quarter of Advanced Art, I decided to focus on the human anatomy, more specifically, the skeletal system. This is due simply to the difficulty that comes with properly drawing bones, skulls and joints. I decided to draw 1 hand, 1 normal skull, and 1 sugar skull. The sugar skull was just something different that I wanted to do in order to step outside of just normal skull and bones. Although their are few pieces, the quality of each piece is what I wanted to focus on, which meant spending numerous hours on each drawing. The minimum amount of time I spent on a single drawing was 4 hours, with 7 hours being the maximum for a drawing, that being the sugar skull. I also noticed over time that my drawing and specifically details were getting much better. I'm proud to say that I've definitely grown as an artist this quarter and I hope to expand that growth in the near future.

Q3 Art - Nia

Posted by Nia Hammond in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 10:24 pm

This quarter, we continued our artistic journeys through the lessons on drawspace. Here are my favorite drawings of them. Most included using skills of shading, crosshatching, and starting off from shapes to get more realistic drawings in the end. Please enjoy.
*note: I'm not sure why, but the media uploader insisted that nearly all my drawings were incorrectly oriented; I apologize for this in advance.

Quarter 3 Art-Lisa

Posted by Lisa Kang in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 9:58 pm

This quarter I continued to practice shading but I also learned new skills about drawing animals and cartoon characters. One of the things that I enjoyed this quarter was learning about how to draw some portions of people such as lips and ears. Some of the drawings this quarter had to use different colors and so I had some practice with colorful drawings.

Q3 Artwork

Posted by Emalyn Bartholomew in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 12:54 pm

This quarter, I spent a lot of my class time working on painting another ceiling tile. This time, Arshelle, Leah and I all worked on painting Olaf from Frozen. This was really fun, and I think he turned out really well. It also taught us a lot about painting, we learned how to paint shadows and create depth on the tile.
This quarter, I also took a trip to England. While I was abroad, I noticed a lot of the pictures I took included things like horizon lines, perspective points, and other things I remember from previous quarter sketches. I've included a few of these pictures at the bottom of my portfolio.

Quarter 3 Art- Julian Makarechi

Posted by Julian Makarechi in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:14 am

My name is Julian Makarechi, and I am a junior at Science Leadership Academy. This year I decided to become a better artist by taking Ms. Hull's. In her class I am able to explore any different parts of art I wish to. So, I decided to create three major pieces. Each piece of art has multiple steps. First I created four collages using Keynote. They consisted of pictures from google of puppies, kittens, sheep, and horses. I then drew Mr.Potato Head. There were four stages to this piece. First drawing him in pencil, then sharpie, then colored pencil, then colored pencil and sharpie. I went through the exact same process but instead I drew Piglet.

Ray Albarouki - Q3 Art

Posted by Rahed Albarouki in Art Advanced - Hull - e2 on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 4:33 am

My inspiration for Quarter 3 was wealth. The largest goal in my life is to have wealth in myself; to be happy. The photos chosen are only a few of the many that I took, but they are the most important. I decided to only take photos of things in my room because that's one of the places I feel the happiest. Each photo is representative of my aspirations.

(unfortunately, my camera wouldn't upload the photos for some reason, so I took the photos of the photos from my phone. NO WHERE near as great of quality.)
