Posted by Ashley Weekes in Advanced Art - Hull on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 1:39 pm

The last two pictures are pictures of my sculpture. I took 200 photos and during my weekend vacation to portland I used 3 pictures from the bunch and altered the saturation and exposure of these photos.

S.Kabangai- Fourth Quarter

Posted by Samuel Kabangai in Advanced Art - Hull on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 9:08 am

Artist Statement

Hi my name is Samuel Kabangai, i attend school at Science Leadership Academy, i am the artist that created this design. For our fourth quarter project, we the students had to make some are pieces that were give to us by the teacher.

I liked the projects that we got and i was really excited to do these art pieces. One of my favorite pieces that i had to  make was the bike project. In this project we had to draw a bike that was in the classroom. Every project was exciting and i was always pleased with the final product that i produced at the end. I like when the projects seemed like a challenge because it made me work harder and do something that i did not think i could produce.

The tools that I used to make these are pieces were, charcoal, pencil, paint, computer etc. Every project needed to do something new and it made me use something new and every project was a new learning experience.

Then and Now

Here are 3 photos taken by me, and edited by me. I used Photoshop, which is a picture editing application to manipulate the colors, patterns, lighting, and other aspects of the photo to create a newer version.

ManipulateMe.

Posted by Amber Altomare in Advanced Art - Hull on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:52 pm

In this project, we are supposed to use an editing software and manipulate our pictures. I used Picasa.

I took some of my pictures from my iPhoto but also some from my Flickr page.

My 3 Photos.

Posted by Natikwa Goodwin in Advanced Art - Hull on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:31 pm

For this project we were to take 3 simple photos and photoshop them. For all the pictures I edited I basically added a blue & pink type of gradient and dimmed it down. I also added lens flare, and different filters to each.

The pictures below are probably my favorite simply because they are of my Harley. The top picture is the original and the on below this is the one I edited using an app called Pixelmator.

Lola Akinsola Sculpture and other things

Posted by Omolola Akinsola in Advanced Art - Hull on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 9:49 am

The reason I made the twin towers was simply because the idea was given to me by a friend. He said that since I am from New York and I was in New York and got a smell and glimpse of the smoke and witnessed the towers fall from a distance, making this sculpture would feel personal and would keep me determined to finish it. He was right. As I began folding the cardboard into the towers it reminded me of how the towers used to stand. The materials that I used were red, white, and blue paint, cardboard, scissors, glue, and a needle and thread. I did it the way I did it because I was thinking of it as like a grave stone so I put the American flag under it.

Here are a few of my art projects created in the third quarter.  All of which were inspired by real things.  I spent approximately two hours of practice before I came up with each final product.
