Handing out the voter handouts was very interesting. People are very ignorant and do not even like to inform themselves in this city we live in. The first question I would ask before even explaining what the hand out was,  “Are you voting?” The responses that I received from that were somewhat amusing. The very first person I asked repulsed and refrained from the whole conversation I was willing to give, he simply shook his head and said “Nahh, I don’t want to hear it.” Then after going around I finally caught hang of the job and was informing people on the rights as a voter. I heard some interesting reasons on why not people were going out to vote on November 2^nd and the simplest was “No, I have work.” The most unusual was “I can’t, I’m not a U.S citizen.” That really caught my attention. That lady wasn’t a citizen… I pondered the fact she was here..? But I wouldn’t dare have had questioned her.  When I was at Margaret and Orthodox I even stopped into some lady who didn’t know any English, yet she still took my handout and smiled. I would have to say that, informing people on their rights, as a voter in this country was really unique today. I do believe I made a difference today, if that counts for anything.

Whitney Washington and I created a video summing up our entire experience on Election Day! We handed out flyers and drew with chalk on the ground to try and send the message that every vote counts and we should take advantage of our right to vote. We spent our entire time at 40th and walnut.

On Tuesday November 2nd me and my fellow classmate Tyrone Kidd headed down to Rittenhouse Square, Suburban Station and Greenfield School where we handed out flyers encouraging people to vote and also conducted an interview. When we first got down to Rittenhouse we found that not a lot of people traveled through the park and the very few people that did come through there had either already come from voting or just didn't want to bothered at the time. When we decided to then walk down to Suburban Station the number of people that we encountered was great, but even here we found that some people were either rushing to work after voting or didn't want to be bothered. What I found interesting was that some people that we handed flyers to stopped to look at it before going about their day and also were interested to see to students just as compelled to get people to vote as they may have been to get them to vote. When we came from passing out all the flyers we headed to the Greenfield School on 22nd and Chestnut where we interviewed a woman who had worked at the polls right after voting herself. The questions we asked were 1) What motivated you to come out and vote? 2)Where have you encountered the highest amount of ad campaigning? 3) What changes do you hope to see in Philadelphia as a result in this election? 4) Do you vote in every election? 5)Do you know why we vote on Tuesdays?. A: Its my civic duty to support the constitution.

A: No.

Q:What was the most memorable campaign you have encountered?

A: President Obama's 08 campaign.

When I was passing out the flyers it was very interesting. Nobody really wanted to take them, I'd have them in my hand and then they would say no thank you. I feel like I kind I kind of pressured them into it because once I asked "what are you not voting?" did they take the flyer. It was just weird that it happened that way but I don't know it was still fun.
