The task that we chose to do was filling out a Protection from Abuse Order. If someone is being stalked or abused by a previous spouse or relation, a person is allowed to file for a PFA. This process requires a lot of paper work, time and patience. When filling it out, the papers asked a lot of questions and for detail. I would assume the questions and descriptions are so no one can file one under the wrong circumstances.

This project was challenging and really got me to look and find laws that effected my life. It showed me how many laws actually due impact my life and the court cases that influence my rights. It was a lot of work though and I wish I worked on it more timely.

When choosing a topic for each part branch of government, I considered what has had a bearing on my life. At first I researched topics suggested to me by my teacher and students. From there I found related topics that influence other topics I already researched.  The process was hard when I had to put each law, case and office into my own words, however relating it to my life was easy. Sometimes understanding the exact intention of each landmark decision was difficult too.

 

As I get older, I believe the government will impact me even more than it does not. As an adult I will have to make more decisions, fill out more paper work, and mostly like interact and help influence the decisions of the different branches of government.

 

This was a fantastic project. It opened my eyes to many cases, laws, and offices that I was unaware of.  I am less ignorant of my government. I truly believe I learned throughout this process.

This benchmark I would say was difficult. I feel as though it was a lot of time consuming and that it was difficult to go about this project. Finding laws and offices was challenging and sort of annoying. Finding laws and court cases that pertained to me was difficult because I do not have anything that really affects me. I do not have any problem with anything and for like healthcare and college yeah. I got frustrated a lot while doing this benchmark. I did learn the difference between the 3 different branches and interesting laws. If I would do this benchmark differently I would have...I don't know. I would not wish to do this benchmark again. Overall, this was a challenging benchmark and a productive one as well.

When choosing the items to include in my history benchmark this quarter, I thought about what has impacted me throughout the year, I began with the executive branch because my father is a fireman and that has impacted my life greatly. I then moved on to the Legislative branch because there are a lot of laws that affect minors, after that I did the judicial branch because a lot of the court cases have to do with student's

This process was very simple, research and write a paragraph about your research, however it was also very tedious. I did not have trouble with completing the project itself I just had trouble finding time to complete the project, therefore it was not an easy or difficult process, it was in the middle.

As I get older I believe that my life will become more affected by the government because I will have college loans to pay back, and I will have taxes to file when I receive a job, and that is only within the next few years! 

    For this project we needed to find 2 positive and 2 negatives for each the executive, legislative, and judicial branch. When it came to finding and choosing the 12 different laws, cases, or offices I tried thinking of things that affected my life the most. Since I am under 18, finding laws that had age limits on them were easy for me to use.
    This project was both easy and difficult. The easiest part was finding which laws, cases, or offices I wanted to use. The difficult part was turning what I found into paragraphs. Sometimes it's hard to explain what you want to say and that's what I was having trouble with. Another difficult part was finding items that affect me now instead of in the future. As I get older I believe that the government will have more of an affect on me because there will be more laws, court cases, and offices out there. Since I'm still in my teen years, I don't believe the government affects me as much as it would later on in life.
